Terms of Use
Last updated: published October 9, 2026 · effective November 9, 2026 (the previous version applies until then). Amended on October 26, 2026 to add clarifications to section 5 and the conditions for institutional accounts that take effect on December 1, 2026 (sections 5 and 11, marked with that date); text published on October 9.
By creating an account or using Sesiona, you agree to these Terms of Use in full. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. Description of Service
Sesiona is a practice management platform for mental health professionals, available at sesiona.mx. The service includes Google Calendar-integrated scheduling, digital clinical records, client communication, therapeutic task assignment, emotional check-ins, and institutional coordination tools.
Sesiona is operated by Vínculo Soluciones Digitales S.A. de C.V., based in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico (hereinafter "Sesiona", "we", or "the Operator").
2. Account Types
Sesiona offers three account types:
- Therapist account — for mental health professionals managing their schedule, clients, and clinical records individually.
- Institutional account — for therapy centers, psychology schools, hospitals, or organizations coordinating multiple therapists, courses, and students.
- Client account — for individuals accessing the app linked to their therapist to view appointments, complete tasks, and submit emotional check-ins.
3. Registration and Account
- Access to Sesiona requires a valid Google account, except in the Campus portal, where students may also sign in with a single-use link sent to their email address. Anyone who signs in with that link is responsible for the security of their email inbox.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activities that occur under it.
- You must provide accurate and up-to-date information when registering.
- Therapists are responsible for complying with applicable professional regulations in their jurisdiction, including NOM-004-SSA3-2012 in Mexico.
4. Acceptable Use
By using Sesiona you agree to:
- Use the service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
- Not share your account with unauthorized third parties.
- Not attempt to access other users' data without authorization.
- Not use the service for illegal, fraudulent, or harmful activities.
- Not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the platform's source code.
- Not intentionally overload the service infrastructure.
5. Plans and Pricing
Sesiona offers a permanent Free plan and paid plans billed as a monthly subscription. The current prices, in Mexican pesos and with VAT (IVA) included, are:
- Free — $0. Up to 10 active clients and up to 3 clients linked to the client app.
- Consultorio — MXN $299 per month. For independent therapists, with no client limit.
- Clínica — MXN $1,490 per month. Includes the accounts of 4 therapists, among them the therapist account of the holder of the institutional account, if they have one. Additional therapist: MXN $200 per month, upon request to hola@sesiona.mx, up to a maximum of 8 therapists in total.
- Institución — MXN $2,490 per month. Includes the accounts of 5 therapists, among them the therapist account of the holder of the institutional account, if they have one, and the Campus academic module. Additional therapist: MXN $200 per month, upon request, with no cap.
Every new therapist account includes a free 30-day trial period with full access
to the features of the Consultorio plan, with no need to register a card. When the trial ends,
if you do not subscribe to a paid plan, your account will move to the Free plan.
Every institutional account created on or after October 26, 2026 includes a
free 30-day trial period from its creation, with no need to register a card, with access
to all the features of its panel. For the institution to pay for its therapists' accounts ("covering"
them) it must subscribe to a Clínica or Institución plan; if it subscribes during the trial, the first
charge is made when the trial ends. Covering a therapist means the institution pays for their Sesiona
account: the therapist has full access without subscribing to a plan of their own. Only the holder of the
institutional account (the account it was created with) may subscribe to, manage, or cancel its plan; the
co-administrators they add may cover therapists within the plan's seats.
Regarding billing, cancellation, and what happens if you stop paying:
- Paid plans are billed monthly, on a recurring basis and in advance through Stripe, our payment processor. Sesiona does not store your card details.
- You may cancel at any time from the payments section of your account panel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid: you keep full access until that date and no further charges are made.
- If your subscription ends (due to cancellation or non-payment), your account moves to the Free plan and its limits. You never lose your data: you will be asked to archive the clients exceeding the limit (archiving deletes nothing), your clinical records, notes, and logs are preserved in full, and linked clients exceeding the limit keep read-only access to their history.
Refund policy:
- No refunds are given for partial periods: upon cancellation, the current period already paid is not refunded, but you keep access until it ends.
- If, due to an error, you are overcharged, charged twice, or charged after a confirmed cancellation, Sesiona will refund the amount improperly charged. Write to us at hola@sesiona.mx.
- Nothing in this policy limits the non-waivable rights granted to you by the Federal Consumer Protection Law (Ley Federal de Protección al Consumidor) or those you may assert before PROFECO.
Institutional accounts (Clínica and Institución plans).
Until November 30, 2026: if an institution does not have an active subscription (because it
never subscribed, cancelled, or stopped paying), it keeps its information and access to its features, but
cannot cover therapists: the therapists it covered —including the therapist account of its holder, if
they have one— move to the Free plan, with access to their account and data and with that plan's limits,
or may subscribe to their own plan. No one loses their information or is blocked because of the
institution's non-payment.
From December 1, 2026 (Central Mexico time), instead of the preceding paragraph, the following
conditions apply to all institutional accounts, including those created before that date:
- What each plan includes. The Clínica plan includes the institutional panel (linked therapists, shared scheduling, consulting rooms, and confirmations) and the accounts of the therapists it covers. The Institución plan also includes the academic module (courses, students, the Campus portal, certificates, and academic supervision).
- Without a plan. When its trial period ends, or on December 1, 2026 if its trial ended earlier or it had no trial, an institution without an active plan —because it never subscribed, cancelled, or stopped paying— keeps access to its panel in read-only mode: it can view all of its information but cannot create or modify anything. With the Clínica plan, the academic module becomes read-only in the same way.
- Ongoing courses. During the 90 calendar days following the date on which the institution's panel —or, with the Clínica plan, its academic module— becomes read-only (if that happens on December 1, 2026, through March 1, 2027, inclusive), its staff may finish the courses that already had enrolled students on that date: take attendance, grade activities, and issue certificates. During that period it cannot create courses or enroll new students. Any pending certificates may be issued once the institution subscribes to a plan again.
- Students. Students keep access to the courses in which they are already enrolled, to their materials, and to the certificates already issued to them, even if the institution has no plan.
- Therapists. The therapists the institution covered, including the therapist account of its holder if they have one, move to the Free plan, with access to their account and data and with that plan's limits, or may subscribe to their own plan. Each therapist keeps using their own Sesiona account.
- Data. Sesiona does not delete information because of non-payment: everything is preserved and can be edited again as soon as the institution subscribes to a plan. The institution may request a copy of its information at any time, and requests from its students regarding their personal data are handled even if it has no plan, by writing to privacidad@sesiona.mx.
- These conditions apply unless the institution has a different written agreement with Sesiona.
If you require a tax invoice (CFDI), register your tax details (RFC, legal business name, tax
regime, postal code of your tax address, and billing email) in the "Billing details (CFDI)" section of
your account panel; the invoice will be
issued with those details and sent to the email address you provide. For an institutional account, its
holder enters those details in the "Billing details (CFDI)" section of the institution's panel, and the
invoice is issued to the RFC and legal name entered there (the institution's, if it has its own RFC).
Invoices are issued by Vínculo Soluciones Digitales S.A. de C.V.
The Founder price (the Consultorio plan for MXN $150 per month; the Clínica plan for MXN
$890 per month and the Institución plan for MXN $1,740 per month) is limited to a quota of 50 spots —each
Clínica Founder plan takes 4 of those spots and each Institución Founder plan, 5—, can be
purchased until November 9, 2026 (11:59 p.m., Central Mexico time) —after that, only the
Consultorio plan and only by invitation from Sesiona—, is available only as a monthly subscription, and
is honored for life for as long as the subscription remains active. Additional
therapists on a Clínica or Institución Founder plan are billed at MXN $200 per month, as on the regular
plan. If the subscription is canceled, any new subscription will be at the price in effect at that time.
Any price changes will be communicated with at least 30 days' notice by
email or via a notice within the platform, before they apply to your subscription. If you do
not agree with the new price, you may cancel before it takes effect.
6. Data Ownership
- Clinical data, records, and notes entered by the therapist are the exclusive property of the therapist.
- Client data belongs to the therapist who registered it, under their professional responsibility.
- Sesiona does not sell, share, or use clinical data for any purpose other than operating the service.
- Upon account closure, therapists may request a data export by contacting privacidad@sesiona.mx with 30 days' notice.
6 bis. Controller-Processor Relationship (LFPDPPP)
In the processing of clients' personal data, the therapist acts as the Data
Controller under the Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private
Parties (LFPDPPP), in force as of March 21, 2025, and Sesiona acts as the Data
Processor, processing such data solely to provide the contracted service.
By using the Platform to manage client data, the therapist:
- Confirms being the Controller of their clients' personal data under the LFPDPPP.
- Undertakes to have the corresponding privacy notice and to have made it available to their clients before entering their data into the Platform.
- For minor clients, confirms having obtained the consent of the parent or legal guardian before registering their data and before providing them with access to the client app.
- Agrees that Sesiona processes such data solely in accordance with the instructions implicit in the use of the service and with the Privacy Policy.
- Is responsible for complying with NOM-004-SSA3-2012 and any other applicable professional standards in their jurisdiction.
As Processor, Sesiona undertakes to: (i) process the data only for the purpose of the service;
(ii) implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures; (iii) not disclose the
data to third parties other than the subprocessors listed in the Privacy Policy; (iv) delete or
return the data upon termination of the contractual relationship, within the applicable periods.
6 ter. Campus Portal (students and institutions)
In the Campus module (campus.sesiona.mx), the
institution acts as the Controller of its students' data, and Sesiona acts
as the Processor. The institution is responsible for having the corresponding privacy notice
for its students and for obtaining the necessary consents before enrolling them on the platform.
For minor students, the institution is responsible for obtaining the consent of the parent or
legal guardian.
7. Google Calendar Integration
Connecting Google Calendar is optional and requires the therapist's explicit authorization. Access is used exclusively for the scheduling features described in the Privacy Policy. The therapist may revoke this access at any time from within the platform or from their Google account settings.
When a therapist links their account to an institution, they may independently grant or revoke the institution's access to their calendar at any time from their institution profile.
7 bis. Video sessions (teleconsultation)
When the therapist and client agree, sessions may be held via video call within Sesiona (teleconsultation). The following conditions apply:
- Teleconsultation is a therapeutic support channel and does not replace emergency care. In the event of a crisis or emergency, the client must seek emergency services (911) or the Línea de la Vida (800 911 2000).
- Session audio and video are sensitive personal health data and are processed in accordance with the LFPDPPP and the Privacy Policy. Before their first video call, the client grants explicit consent for teleconsultation, including the international transfer of data.
- Video transmission is carried out through a subprocessor (LiveKit, Inc.), encrypted in transit, with servers that may be located outside Mexico (see Privacy Policy).
- Sesiona does not record video sessions. The therapist documents the session in the clinical record in accordance with NOM-004-SSA3-2012.
- The therapist is responsible for verifying the client's identity and for practicing in accordance with applicable regulations, including the Guidelines for mental health counseling through electronic means.
- Video call quality depends on each participant's internet connection; Sesiona does not guarantee the absence of technical interruptions.
8. Service Availability
Sesiona strives to maintain continuous service availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance periods, updates, or interruptions beyond our control may occur. We are not liable for losses resulting from service interruptions.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- Sesiona is not responsible for clinical decisions made by professionals using the platform.
- Sesiona does not warrant that the platform is suitable for any specific medical or clinical purpose.
- Sesiona's total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by the user in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim, or MXN $500 for free accounts.
- Sesiona shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
10. Intellectual Property
The name "Sesiona", the design, code, and platform content are the property of the Operator or its licensors. No license is granted over these elements beyond what is necessary to use the service in accordance with these Terms.
11. Suspension and Termination
Sesiona may suspend or cancel an account if:
- These Terms of Use are violated.
- Fraudulent use or illegal activity is detected.
Failure to pay for a paid plan is not grounds for suspension or cancellation of the
account: its only consequence is that the account moves to the Free plan, as described in
section 5. From December 1, 2026, in the case of an institutional account, the consequence is also that
its panel becomes read-only, likewise as described in section 5; neither the account nor its information
is cancelled or deleted.
Users may cancel their account at any time by contacting hola@sesiona.mx.
12. Modifications to Terms
Sesiona may modify these Terms at any time. Substantial changes will be communicated with at least 30 days' notice by email or via a notice within the platform. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Mexican States. For any dispute arising from the use of Sesiona, the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, waiving any other venue that may apply.
14. Contact
